Design details: Copper Lattice Heat Exchanger Set
A group of copper-colored components combines open lattice regions with ports and enclosing walls. The geometry is relevant to compact thermal designs because it places many small surfaces close to potential flow paths.
Surface area alone does not determine heat-transfer performance. Confirm the actual alloy, internal channel dimensions, cleanliness and pressure requirements, then evaluate thermal performance under the intended operating conditions.
Features to review on a similar design
- Provide access for cleaning internal flow paths
- Confirm alloy and material condition
- Define pressure-drop and thermal validation conditions
Metal additive manufacturing review
Metal laser powder-bed fusion can produce curved passages and open structures that are difficult to machine from a solid block. A production plan must also address support removal, powder evacuation, stress relief or other required heat treatment and secondary machining. Choose the alloy from the operating environment and specify critical datums and inspection methods. Surface appearance alone cannot confirm alloy, density, leak tightness or qualification for an aerospace or pressure application.

Polishing should be localized around the features that need a smoother appearance. Thin ribs, small openings and sharp decorative edges can lose definition if too much material is removed. For enclosed or lattice geometry, agree which surfaces can be reached and use a visual reference to define the finish.

Upload a STEP file for solid geometry or a high-resolution STL/3MF mesh for sculptural forms. Include overall dimensions, quantity, intended use and the faces or details that matter most. Add a drawing for mating interfaces and a color or finish reference for visual models. AIHFabs can review the geometry and manufacturing options before production.
