SOLUTIONS / CONNECT / COORDINATE

Connect the people behind every part and purchase

AIHFABS team collaboration

Bring engineering, purchasing and quality into an AIHFABS project conversation built around one part list, the current drawings and clear approval responsibilities.

Engineering, purchasing and quality professionals reviewing a machined part, CAD model and drawings together

A SHARED STARTING POINT

Give every part a record the whole team can understand

Organize your AIHFABS project brief around a part number, its current files and the decision still required.

EXAMPLE PROJECT RECORD

Housing assembly / Revision C

One package for engineering review, quotation and purchase approval.

Technical files
Current CAD, dimensioned drawing and assembly reference
Commercial brief
Quantity, material, finish and requested delivery
Approval owners
Engineering contact and purchasing contact
Open decision
Confirm insert specification before release

FEWER LOST HANDOFFS

Let each stakeholder own the decision they know best

A shared project does not mean everyone must approve every detail.

Engineering

Owns geometry, drawing revisions and the functional requirements. Sends revised files as a complete package and identifies what changed.

Purchasing

Confirms quantity, quote assumptions, purchase references and delivery requirements. Checks that the quoted revision matches the approved brief.

Quality

Identifies critical features and required reports. Helps define how a pilot or incoming shipment will be accepted.

AIHFABS project contact

Reviews the manufacturing brief, consolidates technical questions and confirms the scope included in the quotation.

CONTROL THE RELEASE

Keep revisions and reorders connected

Use a consistent release convention when a model moves between departments.

  1. Name the part and revision

Put the same identifier on the model, drawing and BOM. Mark obsolete files so they cannot be mistaken for the current release.

  2. Resolve questions before purchase

Keep responses with the affected part. A change to material, finish or fit may also change price, inspection or timing.

  3. Confirm before reordering

Reference the accepted revision and prior order. State whether quantity, destination or other requirements have changed.

Is this an automatic approval or ERP integration tool?

This solution starts with a coordinated project brief and AIHFABS project support. Discuss any account access or purchasing-system requirement with the team before making it part of your workflow.

Can several departments contribute to one brief?

Yes. Provide a technical contact, a purchasing contact and the person authorized to approve changes. Use one current file package when sending the project for review.

Give your next project a shared starting point

Send your part list and introduce the people who approve technical requirements and purchasing.
