Design details: Red Lattice Teardrop Sculpture
A pointed teardrop silhouette is formed by crossing diagonal struts around an open interior. The repeated diamond openings become smaller near the top, making the apex a key detail in both printing and finishing.
Review the smallest lattice cell at the final scale rather than scaling down the entire model without inspection. Paint should reach the inner struts without bridging the narrow openings near the tip.
Features to review on a similar design
- Check minimum openings near the apex
- Provide access to the inner lattice
- Apply thin paint coats to preserve open cells
SLA resin design review
SLA builds photopolymer resin parts with fine surface detail. For a similar model, select the resin by its intended use: an appearance model, a fit-check enclosure and a part exposed to heat need different material properties. Review support contact, drainage from hollow regions, washing access and post-curing before committing to a build. Standard resin should not be assumed to provide long-term outdoor durability or load-bearing performance.

Paint preparation includes cleaning, local support-mark removal and a suitable coating system for the chosen substrate. Specify the color and gloss, identify surfaces to mask and allow for coating thickness around mating features. Light coats help preserve small relief details and open cells.

Upload a STEP file for solid geometry or a high-resolution STL/3MF mesh for sculptural forms. Include overall dimensions, quantity, intended use and the faces or details that matter most. Add a drawing for mating interfaces and a color or finish reference for visual models. AIHFabs can review the geometry and manufacturing options before production.
