3D Printing in Energy Industry

We specialize in custom parts for the energy industry, whether single pieces or complex multiple pieces. 3D printing can create complex parts for the energy industry, such as internal channels, manifolds, and optimized structures, enhancing efficiency and sustainability in various energy applications. With our comprehensive 3D printing solutions and post-processing services, we deliver precise, high-performance parts that meet the specific needs of the energy industry.

Energy teams send rotating hardware, flow parts, and fixtures that sit near heat. SLM metal is the usual path. SLS nylon covers the shop fixtures that should not wait on a mill.

What energy teams send us

Impellers, pump housings, and manifolds with internal channels show up first. They are development or replacement parts, not a certified pressure vessel from this page. We print, finish, and machine the faces you call out.

Polymer fixtures for assembly and inspection ride along on the same account. They keep the metal printer free for the part that has to be metal.

Typical energy parts

Flow and heat first. Fixtures second.

Impellers and rotors

Bladed geometry in SLM metal, balanced enough for a bench test after machining.

Manifolds

Internal channels that replace a stack of welds. Metal when pressure or heat requires it.

Heat-adjacent brackets

Stainless or aluminum mounts that sit near hot equipment.

Inspection fixtures

Nylon nests that hold a casting or a print for a gauge.

From prototype development to production support

Plan each stage around the part’s function, material and inspection requirements—from the first design review to a repeatable batch.

  1. State the medium and temperature

    State the medium and temperature

Air, water, oil, or heat. That decides metal versus nylon and which alloy.

  2. Print the flow geometry

    Print the flow geometry

SLM for metal. SLS only when the duty is a fixture or a cool cover.

  3. Machine sealing faces

    Machine sealing faces

Call out the faces and threads. We finish them on the same order.

  4. Inspect against the drawing

    Inspect against the drawing

Dimensional check before the part leaves. Certification stays with your QA pack.

Manufacturing capabilities and material options

Match the process, material and finish to the part’s geometry and operating conditions. Share your requirements so the quotation can include the necessary secondary operations.

Materials that show up on energy quotes

Stainless and aluminum for most metal. PA12 for fixtures.

SLM metals

Aluminum and stainless alloys for flow hardware.

CNC metals

Machined stock when AM is not the first cut.

Design, material and inspection considerations

Thermal-management and flow hardware

Heat exchangers, manifolds and housings require a defined fluid path and inspection access. Specify temperature, pressure, material compatibility and surfaces that need machining; internal channels also need a cleaning and verification plan.

Equipment mounts and service fixtures

Brackets, adapter plates and maintenance tools should be reviewed against their loads and working environment. Identify corrosion exposure, clamping points and wear interfaces, and distinguish prototype aids from safety-critical operating equipment.

Material records and test requirements

Request alloy identification, dimensional reports and any pressure or leak tests with the enquiry. Test scope and acceptance criteria must be agreed for the particular component; manufacturing a shape does not establish system performance.

Energy FAQ

Do you certify pressure parts?

We print and inspect to your drawing. Pressure and PED/ASME claims stay with your engineer of record.

Can you print stainless impellers?

Yes, in SLM stainless, then machine hubs and faces. Say the balance requirement on the quote.

What if the spare has no CAD?

Send a scan and photos. We will say whether it can print as a mesh or needs a rebuild.

Upload the impeller or manifold and state the medium and temperature. We will price SLM and CNC together.
