3D Printing in Medical Field

We can meet your needs for customized prosthetics, implants, surgical tools, and anatomical models, offering dedicated 3D printing solutions for the medical industry. 3D printing makes biocompatible and customized medical devices and implants for patients and researchers. Our goal is to provide cost-effective manufacturing solutions for the medical field.

Device and lab teams use AIHFABS for anatomical models, fixtures, and enclosure prototypes. SLA handles detail. SLS and MJF handle housings. We do not sell implants or sterile clinical devices from this page.

What medical teams send us

Most files are teaching models, design-verification housings, or jigs that sit next to a procedure — not inside a body. Detail and a clean surface matter. So does a clear statement that this is not an implant order.

If you need biocompatible claims, say the standard on the quote. We will tell you which resins we can run and which claims you still have to carry.

Typical medical parts

Models and housings we print every week. Implants we do not list here.

Anatomical models

High-detail SLA for teaching, planning, and device fit. Clear or dyed as needed.

Jigs and fixtures

Nylon or resin nests for assembly, inspection, or lab work.

Device housings

MJF or SLS enclosures for handhelds and instruments in development.

Form studies

Ergonomic shapes that change every review, printed without a tool.

From prototype development to production support

Plan each stage around the part’s function, material and inspection requirements—from the first design review to a repeatable batch.

  1. State the use

    State the use

Teaching model, lab fixture, or device housing. We will stop a file that looks like an implant.

  2. Pick resin or nylon

    Pick resin or nylon

SLA for anatomy and faces. SLS/MJF for housings and jigs.

  3. Finish for handling

    Finish for handling

Smooth, dye, or leave technical. Sterile packaging is not a default.

  4. Document the lot

    Document the lot

Process and material sit on the quote for your design history file.

Manufacturing capabilities and material options

Match the process, material and finish to the part’s geometry and operating conditions. Share your requirements so the quotation can include the necessary secondary operations.

Materials that show up on medical quotes

Standard and tough resins for models. PA12 for housings. Ask before claiming biocompatibility.

CNC plastics

Machined plates when a print is the wrong first cut.

Design, material and inspection considerations

Anatomical and planning demonstration models

Provide the intended non-clinical use, model scale and features that must remain visible. Separate rigid anatomy from flexible demonstration elements, and specify whether the model needs sectioning, color separation or a removable assembly.

Device enclosures and instrument development

Prototype handles, covers and fixtures can support ergonomic, assembly and bench evaluation. Identify cleaning exposure, mating interfaces and repeated-use conditions; demonstration materials should not be assumed suitable for patient contact.

Validation and controlled documentation

State contact type, sterilization method and applicable documentation needs before material selection. Biocompatibility, sterilization compatibility and device approval require product-specific validation and cannot be inferred from a manufacturing process.

Medical FAQ

Do you print implants?

No. This page is models, jigs, and device housings. Implant production is out of scope.

Can parts be sterilized?

Only if the material and finish you choose allow it. Say the method. We will not imply a sterile clinical device.

Will you sign a quality agreement?

Commercial terms go through the quote and your purchasing pack. Process and material are recorded on the order.

Upload the file and label the use. We will price resin, nylon, and CNC — and refuse implant-shaped orders.
